Can you reveal the destination of a link in an email without touching the screen?
No?
Well stop touching links in emails then and you won't be in danger of opening a phishing link!! š¤¦āāļø
This post is brought to you by Recent Phishing Expeditions in association with I Can't Believe You Did That
Remember: "hover" is your friend when you receive a link in an email. You can't "hover" over a link on a phone or tablet unless you have the aforementioned alien super power
Recent Phishing Expeditions showed that overall ~50% of those people I tricked into "clicking" a link were using either iOS or Android
While I appreciate some people only have or use a phone, users of this platform are mostly corporate so might have a WORK phone but also a WORK computer
Handy tip: if you receive an email to your phone that requires you to click a link, put down the toy and wait until you can access a real device and then you can "hover" and see where the link is really going š¤£š¤£
IT'S not that important š¤¦āāļø
YOU'RE not that important š¤¦āāļøš¤¦āāļø
N.B. if you have uncontrollable Fomo and absolutely need to see where the link might take you I believe (but can't guarantee) that on both iOS and Android you long press (press and hold) and you should get a contextual menu appear which might reveal the real link destination
Long press and press aren't far away from each other though so are you willing to take a chance? I'm not (obviously I'm a š) š¤£
