Cyber Security Incidents Updates wk27

Here’s your Cyber Security Incidents Update for wk27 2024

(a once-a-week on Monday glimpse into just a fraction of the Cyber Security events of the previous week to inform regarding the depth and breadth of the incidents world-wide)

⦿ University Hospital Centre, Zagreb, Croatia (known as KBC Zagreb)

-Data compromised

⦿ A ransomware gang exfiltrated data prior to deploying ransomware. Data includes: patient and employee information, medical records, organ & donor data and other records

⦿ The National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) of South Africa

-Data compromised

⦿ A ransomware attack is affecting the NHLS from disseminating lab results, just as the country responds to an outbreak of mpox

⦿ Prudential Insurance Company of America

-Data compromised

⦿ In March the insurance giant announced that a data breach disclosed in February may have affected 36,000 individuals. In an update last week the figure was revised to 2.5 million (a bit of a jump). Breached data included names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, and non-driver identification card numbers

One piece of good news 👍:

Couldn't find anything this week, sorry 😔

One final note:

Following on from the Ticketmaster breach... last week hackers claimed to have access to 193 million barcodes for tickets, including 440,000 for Taylor Swift concerts. The barcodes are used at point of entry to concerts. Problem is, Ticketmaster says the technology they use frequently refreshes the barcodes making a fixed-in-time copy of them completely useless. What is this? Criminals not telling the truth, AGAIN? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you
