Cyber Security Incidents Updates wk23

Here’s your Cyber Security Incidents Update for wk23 2024

(a once-a-week on Monday glimpse into just a fraction of the Cyber Security events of the previous week to inform regarding the depth and breadth of the incidents world-wide)

⦿ Synnovis, London, UK, a provider of pathology services

-Data compromised

⦿ A ransomware attack has affected services at two major London hospitals, a children's hospital, and GP (doctor) services in handful of London Boroughs

⦿ Australian mining company Northern Minerals

-Data compromised

⦿ Project and mining research data, R&D and financial data, shareholder and investor information, the personal information of employees, and corporate email archives

⦿ Heineken, Amsterdam, the Netherlands with locations world-wide including Ireland

-Data compromised

⦿ (Hacker claims) successful infiltration of Heineken’s internal systems and access to the sensitive employee information of over 8,000 employees

One piece of good news 👍:

The operation to take down the LockBit ransomware gang has allowed the FBI to obtain the decryption keys for more than 7,000 victims, allowing attacked organisations to get their encrypted data back

One final note:

Christie's Auction House, London, UK (as reported in Updates wk22 only from hacker's claims) is notifying individuals whose data was stolen in a recent network breach. The cybercriminals claimed to have exfiltrated the full names, addresses, ID document details, and various other sensitive personal information of at least 500,000 clients
